Anyone who successfully passes their Pre-Associate exam or Level 3 Diploma Dance Teaching Assistant can become a Provisional Member of the IDTA.
The main benefits are:
1. Progression pathway into full membership
Provisional membership is the first formal step into the IDTA professional teaching pathway. It positions you to progress toward Associate, Licentiate, and Fellowship qualifications.

You have the opportunity to take part in IDTA national seminars held in London and Blackpool every year. These events provide valuable professional development and the chance to connect with fellow dance practitioners. Provisional members also benefit from reduced registration fees, making these national seminars more accessible.
3. Area / Regional Seminars
As a provisional member, you are welcome to attend local and regional CPD seminars designed to support your ongoing professional growth. These gatherings also offer excellent opportunities to build relationships with other professionals in your area. Entry fees for provisional members are discounted, allowing you to participate at a lower cost.
4. Dance International Magazine
As a Provisional Member, you’ll receive a copy of the IDTA’s Dance International magazine, which keeps you updated on industry news, teaching insights, events, and developments.
