Anita Spiers
Anita is a Fellow, Examiner and Adjudicator in Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle and Classical Sequence. IDTA has been a part of her life since the age of 5 when taking her first dance awards at the Court School of Dancing, Sutton and started teacher training at age 16. Anita achieved her professional qualifications with the support and guidance of Yvonne Saunders and the late Jacqueline Roberts, who introduced Anita to Congress, along with the IDTA South East Area where she was an active member of the committee. Anita achieved her lifelong dream in 2015 in becoming a Ballroom Branch Examiner.
In 2019, Anita had the honour of being awarded the John Knight Award for Fellowship Classical Sequence.
For over 36 years, Anita, with husband Ian, has been running The Aninai School of Dancing, teaching beginners to Professional Teacher Training.
Anita feels this is the right time to be able to give back to the IDTA and it is a privilege to be on the Board of Directors. Her unerring commitment is to the teachers and members, the backbone of this association and she would like to be part of the journey in taking the Association into the future.
