Arlene Phillips is a world-renowned choreographer and director celebrated for her groundbreaking work on West End and Broadway musicals. A pioneer of jazz dance in the UK, she developed her signature style inspired by American Modern Jazz and taught at the iconic original Dance Centre, Pineapple Dance studios and numerous stage schools including Italia Conti and Arts Educational .
Her career highlights include Andrew Loyd Webbers worldwide Starlight Express, the Olivier Award winning immersive Guys and Dolls and numerous music videos for Whitney Houston, Elton John, Freddie Mercury and Duran Durans award-winning Wild Boys.
From 2004 to 2008, she was a beloved judge on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing and contributed to the Eurovision Song Contest as both choreographer and commentator. Her passion for dance education and innovation continues to inspire dancers and audiences worldwide.
