Dollie Henry MBE is a renowned Jazz Theatre Artist, choreographer, director, educator, and author, celebrated for her 45-year career dedicated to jazz dance and theatre arts. She is globally recognised as a leading advocate for jazz dance theatre, with an illustrious career spanning stage, TV, film, and education.
Dollie trained at Laine Theatre Arts and began her professional career as a soloist dancer and choreographer with The Olivier Briac Dance Company and Dougie Squires ’Second Generation’. She has performed and choreographed for iconic West End productions, including Stop the World I Want to Get Off, King the Musical, Sophisticated Ladies, and Sweet Charity. Dollie is founder and Artistic Director of BOP Jazz Theatre Company producing dance theatre works and performing with her company both nationally and internationally, showcasing the art form and lineage of the jazz expression.
A tireless advocate for equality, diversity, inclusion, and representation within the arts, Dollie’s contributions have earned her an MBE for ‘Services to Dance’. Her book, The Essential Guide to Jazz Dance, cements her legacy as a leading figure in jazz theatre and dance education.
