Inventive Dance Competition – Spanish Hall
The Inventive Dance competition has a new category this year in memory of our esteemed colleague, the late Derek Tonks – the Derek Tonks Trophy, together with the Classical, Modern and Latin sections. If you wish to enter the Inventive Dance competition , please call head office 01273 685652 option 5 and we will send you the entry forms or download them from the IDTA website events page.
8.45 am Doors open
9 – 9.30 am General dancing
9.30 am Competition starts.

Spectators
If you wish to spectate ,please bring your 2023 membership card. If you wish to book non member’s to spectate, please complete the booking form link below.
Spectators tickets are £14 each.

Caribbean Night
Members wishing to attend the Caribbean night, please complete the booking form links below (either ballroom or theatre) to confirm your attendance and to assist with catering. Members may bring one non member guest to this event. Once you have booked you will not be issued with a ticket, head office will keep a list of all members attending this event.

Ballroom and Theatre Workshops

Theatre and Ballroom Lectures
THEATRE
Teachers can book students for the workshops – a maximum of 3 students per workshop per teacher. These spaces must be pre-booked as there are limited spaces and cannot be booked on the day. As the spaces are limited, you will be notified if your booking can be accommodated as tickets will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
Students – Theatre Branch
Students – £30 for the day
In order to participate in the lectures students must be 16 years or over. Students who hold an intermediate performers card and are under 16 years of age may spectate only
non members/qualified teachers from other associations, – £30 for the day must be booked by members of the IDTA
Provisional member – £15 per day
Provisional Member has successfully completed their Pre-Associate / Level 3 Diploma Dance Teaching Assistant and has applied for and been accepted as a provisional members of the IDTA and pay an annual subscription.
BALLROOM
Teachers can book students for the workshops – a maximum of 3 students per teacher,
Students – Ballroom and Freestyle Branch should be 16 years and over. Please note attendance at a professional teaching conference may result in a loss of amateur status for students.
Students – £30 for the day – Teachers can book up to 3 students
non members/qualified teachers from other associations, £30 for the day must be booked by members of the IDTA
Provisional member – £15 per day
Provisional Member has successfully completed their Pre-Associate / Level 3 Diploma Dance Teaching Assistant and has applied for and been accepted as a provisional members of the IDTA and pay an annual subscription.
There will be a full programme of dance lectures for members, featuring top professionals and choreographers from the Ballroom, Freestyle and Theatre world.
Ballroom lectures will be held in the Empress Ballroom and Theatre lectures in the Spanish Hall
FILMING, LIVE STREAMING AND PHOTOS
We will be live streaming and taking official photos for the IDTA Dance International magazine and social media pages. If you do not want to appear in any official filming, photos or live streaming, please identify yourself to the IDTA staff at the reception desk. The Official Photographers are Alan and Pam Thrower, Blair Winston and Charlotte Howell (Live Stream and Social media photos). Mark Winsor Hampton and Steve McLean (Filming workshops) They will be wearing official badges.
When taking photos of your friends and colleagues at the event, please be careful of who is in the background as they may not wish to have their image shared on social media.
Due to copyright purposes you must not film the lectures on any devices including mobile telephones. All filming is prohibited.
SAFEGUARDING STUDENTS/MINORS UNDER 18
Could we please remind all members that any students they bring with them to the IDTA event remain their responsibility throughout. Please ensure that all guidance and policy provided by the IDTA is followed to ensure that all student attending are appropriately safeguarded.
