IDTA Shop

Christmas 2008 & New Year 2009

IDTA President, Colin Donaldson, the Board of Directors and staff at IDTA Head Office wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year to teachers of dancing everywhere.

The IDTA’s Head Office and International Sales shop will be closed for Christmas and again for the New Year holidays. Full details are printed in the November issue of Dance International.

We wish to advise anyone placing an order with International Sales, that the shop will be closed on Monday 22 December 2008 for stocktaking and will only re-open on Monday 5 January 2009, this includes telephone, fax, postal and internet orders. Please place your orders early to avoid disappointment.

New Ballroom Branch Report Forms

We would ask our members to please note, that from 1st January 2009, new report forms and timetable/result sheets will be introduced for the majority of the Ballroom Branch examinations (Ballroom, Latin, Sequence, Freestyle etc….). Please see the members’ section (examination forms) and recent issues of the Dance International magazine for further details.

Members applying for an examination session to be conducted after 1st January 2009 will be issued with a copy of the IDTA Examination Code Book and all the relevant new report forms and timetable/result sheets.

Diary Dates for 2009

The major IDTA events are listed on the Events Page of the website and printed in each issue of the Dance International magazine.

The first major conference of the 2009 is the IDTA London Seminar, on Sunday 1 February, at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Lancaster Terrace, London. A full day of dance workshops and classes for IDTA members is planned, please see the

The Seminar will be followed by the President’s Dinner and Dance incorporating the Carl Alan Awards 2009. We are delighted that Lionel Blair will once again host the Carl Alan Awards and look forward to dancing to the Ross Mitchell Orchestra.

London Seminar Advert

Programmes and application forms for forthcoming IDTA events will be printed as always in the Dance International magazine and will also be posted on the website for members to download - watch out for details of the following IDTA events: Freestyle Seminar, Annual Congress and Leicester Seminar. Demand for tickets is always high, so book early.

New Website Launched

Welcome to the new IDTA website. Each page has be reviewed, restyled and revised. We aim to bring you up to date information and regular news bulletins.

The Members’ Section has been modernised with the emphasis on providing current information that all IDTA members need, including the option to download request forms and professional application forms and if you have any questions please use the contact form.

In September we will launch the completely redeveloped the International Sales shop, with a new layout, clear pictures and detailed description of all our stock and there is a new payment system using PayPal.

IDTA Annual Congress 2008

It was great to see so many members at the IDTA’s Annual Congress in Southport this year. We hope that you all enjoyed the event and we look forward to welcoming you back next year, when all the redevelopment work at the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre will be complete, including the new hotel which links directly to the conference facilities. Reports of the IDTA Annual Congress will be printed in the Dance International magazine, including a full report on the Annual General Meeting.

Nationwide Medallist of the Year Finals

The Classical Sequence and Modern Sequence Finals will be held on 25 & 26 October in the Empress Ballroom of the Winter Gardens, Blackpool and the Freestyle and Rock ‘n’ Roll Finals on 8 & 9 November. For tickets and further information please contact your IDTA Nationwide Area Representative.
